Influence in Kalinga Life

Alonzo Saclag’s campaigns have taken him to schools where he addresses different problems with administrators. The children's tradition of wearing the Kalinga costume for important school events such as graduation and First Communion is one striking outcome of these efforts. He puts up skits and other innovative performances in different schools to celebrate indigenous values.

Most of his focus is channeled into various attempts at preservation. For years, he has encouraged his community members to preserve their artifacts and archaeological sites.

CONTRIBUTION of Alonzo Saclag

Awichon is the village where one can experience Kalinga’s rich culture. There are native houses at the village, collection of native instruments such as gong, and bamboo flute. This is where Saclag started his way of preserving the Kalinga culture
